Pier Luigi COPAT - PLC Architectures
Italian-born, Paris-based architect, Pier Luigi Copat studied architecture at the University of Florence. After three formative years with architect Steven Holl in New York, he moved to Paris where he worked for Santiago Calatrava and Renzo Piano before setting up his own practice, PLC Architecturesf in 1995.
Today, the firm PLC Architectures concentrates on both architecture and interior design for corporate and private clients including GL Events, Banca Intesa Sanpaolo, Starwood Capital Hotels, iGuzzini Illuminazione, Groupe Alliade, Thaddeus Ropac art gallery, Teuco s.p.a., Arper s.p.a.
Since 1996 he is the Interior Design consultant for Renzo Piano Building Workshop and has worked on projects such as the Theatre and Casino in the Potsdamer Platz Berlin, Hotel Hilton Cite Internationale de Lyon, EMI Headquarter in Paris and Intesa SanPaolo tower in Torino.
PLC Architectures embodies a design culture oriented towards consistent and continuous research both architectural and technological.
PLC Architectures implement a design methodology based on a constructive dialogue and exchange with the client but also with design consultants in order to give a specific and precise design answer to a given project program. Coherently to this approach, the design is the result of a process of open-minded research whose reference points and irreplaceable milestones are elements such as quality of space, proportions, light, matter, details, innovation and simplicity.
Since the set up of HighEnd Architecture, Pier Luigi joined the team as the exclusive partner for Interior Design and he brings an international touch to the company with the latest innovations in terms of design, materials, new technologies that he daily applies to his projects inEurope and overseas.
Pier likes museums, arts, culture, visiting exhibitions, spending free time with his two daughters, and, whenever possible, skiing in his natives Alps in Italy.
